Camino Real offers 15% pay, free night

MEXICO CITY -- In an effort to boost its travel agent business, Camino Real Hotels and Resorts offers 15% pay on its More Mexico for Less packages and charges the client for only three of the package's four-night minimum.

To qualify for the promotion, bookings must be made by June 30 for travel through the end of the year.

"Travel agents are a vital part of our business," said Adrian Schjetnan, vice president of marketing and development for Camino Real.

"They [agents] are responsible for more than 50% of our direct bookings.

"We hope that by offering this tangible reward it will let agents know we recognize their importance to our success."

In addition to increasing agent commissions, Camino Real is processing commission checks faster, said Schjetnan.

New internal mailing procedures mandate that payment be sent to booking agents within 72 hours of the guest's departure, compared with the previous seven-day process, he said.

The More Mexico for Less packages are offered at all 13 Camino Real locations in Mexico and in El Paso, Texas, and range from $360 to $630 for a four-night stay.

Packages include accommodations in either a deluxe category room or a Camino Real Club room, daily breakfast and use of a tennis court for one hour during the day (except at Oaxaca, Puebla and El Paso).

In addition, stays in Camino Real Club rooms include a private check-in area and a daily $25 food-and-beverage credit per room.

Camino Real operates 14 metropolitan, resort and colonial properties in Mexico and Texas, with locations in Acapulco Diamante, Cancun, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Oaxaca, Puebla, Puerto Vallarta, Saltillo, Sumiya, Tijuana, Tuxtla Gutierrez, Villahermosa and Zaashila, all in Mexico, and El Paso, Texas.
