PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. -- Caribbean Escapes Cooperative Marketing, which markets luxury travel to the Caribbean, added four upscale properties to its portfolio: Raffles Resort Canouan Island in the Grenadines; Hotel Kura Hulanda in Curacao; Peter Island Resort in the British Virgin Islands; and LaLuna in Grenada.

Glenn Harris, CECM principal and founder, said that 2004 "will prove to be the year of the Caribbean in the luxury resort travel segment."

The firm, which launched last fall, will feature a total of 100 upscale resorts on 25 islands, plus top restaurants, golf courses, spas and boutiques. Selection is by invitation only.

CECM also formed an 11-member advisory board of industry authorities to provide input and expertise on the luxury market.

Members include Steven Heydt, president and CEO of Elite Island Resorts; Liriola Pitti, minister of tourism for Panama; Bill Silvermintz, vice president of marketing, the Americas, for the Barbados Tourism Authority; and Horace Hord, president and CEO of the Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association.
