MIAMI -- Carnival Cruise Lines will feature a Body Beautiful Spa
aboard the 88,500-ton Carnival Pride, which is to enter service
Dec. 30. Located on the forward area of the lido deck and the sun
deck, the two-level, 13,700-square-foot spa will feature large
picture windows affording views of the ocean.
The spa will have a fully equipped fitness center, with
stationary bicycles; treadmills; rowing and stair-climbing
machines, free weights and dumbbells. The spa also will have an
aerobics studio that will offer a variety of instructor-led fitness
classes, such as step and low- and high-impact aerobics, stretching
and muscle-building sessions and kickboxing classes. Personal
trainers will be on hand for one-on-one training.
Guests also can indulge in one of the spa's European-style
therapeutic treatments, such as aroma stone therapy, which uses
warm basalt stones and heated and scented oils to massage the body;
full body and scalp massages; seaweed wraps; mud packs, and
slimming and toning therapies. A full-service beauty salon will
offer nail and hair treatments.
Ten private treatment/massage rooms, locker facilities and sauna
and steam rooms also will be available. The Pride also will feature
four swimming pools and five whirlpools (one in the spa and four
others on the lido deck) and a jogging track.
For healthy dining, the Pride offers Nautica Spa Fare, which
consists of low-fat and low-calorie dishes as well as meals with
decreased sodium and cholesterol content. Vegetarian selections
also are available in the formal dining room as well as at the
salad bar in the ship's poolside restaurant, the Mermaids'
The inaugural sailing of the 2,124-passenger Carnival Pride will
be a six-day western Caribbean voyage from Miami. A three-day
Bahamas cruise from Port Canaveral, Fla., departs Jan. 9, and,
beginning Jan. 12, the ship will launch year-round, seven-day
cruises from Port Canaveral.
