NEW YORK -- Malaysia Airlines is offering a new Access Asia pass that enables travelers to fly to 24 Asian cities via Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and to fly among 24 cities for 30 days.

The pass costs $747 roundtrip for travel from either the East or West coast.

The airline also contracted New York-based tour operator Pacific Holidays to put together a package program using the pass. Pacific Holidays created nine packages from Newark and said it plans to expand the program.

The operator also will put packages together to meet the specific wishes of customers, mixing the 24 cities.

Pacific Holidays' nine-night program via Malaysia Airlines' Access Asia pass combines Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Bali, above. With the exception of Kuala Lumpur, the pass cannot be used to fly to any city more than once.

"The more cities included in the package, the better bargain it becomes because there is no extra charge for the extra flights," said Pacific Holidays president Jerry Chang.

Packages include roundtrip air from Newark or Los Angeles, inter-Asia flights as per itinerary, accommodations with daily breakfast, airport transfers, half-day sightseeing tours with admissions and English-speaking guides.

The following are sample packages. All prices are per person, double:

• A seven-night package combining Kuala Lampur and Hong Kong is priced at $1,295.

• A seven-night plan featuring Kuala Lumpur and Bali, Indonesia, costs $1,140.

• A nine-night program combining Kuala Lumpur, Bali and Singapore is priced at $1,340.

• A 12-night itinerary that includes Bali, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore runs for $1,499.

• A 12-night plan for Bang-kok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore costs $1,599.

Although packages are available, the company said accessibility may be tight until September due to high summer demand. The offer is in effect through March 31.
