Carriers offer discounts, increase service to Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS -- Allegiant Air is offering $39 fares for its nonstop flights between Fresno, Calif., and Las Vegas and $59 fares for its nonstops between Colorado Springs, Colo., and Las Vegas.

The one-way fares are valid for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday departures through Dec. 21.

Meanwhile, four carriers announced plans to increase service to the desert city this winter.

Hawaiian Airlines will add seasonal nonstop service between Las Vegas and Honolulu. The launch date hasn't been determined, but Hawaiian will fly its last charter flight between the cities Jan. 31.

Spirit Airlines expanded its service to Las Vegas on Nov. 14. The carrier added daily one-stop service to Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; connecting service to Atlantic City; and daily connecting service to New York's LaGuardia.

Not sure what it is about Toronto, Las Vegas and Dec. 26, but two carriers are launching air service on that date.

America West will start nonstop roundtrip service between the two cities Thursdays through Sundays.

And Tango, Air Canada's low-fare carrier, also is launching daily, nonstop Las Vegas-Toronto service.
