Cathay Pacific renews its pass program, covering 16 cities

HONG KONG -- Cathay Pacific launched the 2000 version of its All-Asia Pass, which offers economy class travel to up to 16 cities in the region within a period of 30 days for $1,099.

The airline has offered All-Asia passes for the past two years and said the fare has been popular with passengers.

Conditions of the pass include travel to Hong Kong and any or all of 15 other cities from New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Passengers who register as Cathay Pacific CyberTravelers also can buy a discounted pass for $999, and they can take up to three friends along for $999 each.

The CyberTraveler program can be accessed via the Cathay Web site.

The basic All-Asia pass includes economy class travel to any or all of the following cities: Bangkok; Hong Kong; Denpasar, Surabaja and Jakarta, Indonesia; Penang and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Cebu and Manila, Philippines; Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo, Japan; Seoul, South Korea; Singapore, and Taipei, Taiwan.

Travel to other cities in Southeast Asia and the South Pacific can be arranged for an extra fee.

Travel periods are from Feb. 14 to May 14 and from Aug. 16 to Dec. 15.

A number of optional add-ons also are available.

All-Asia passes can be booked and ticketed only through travel agents.
