NEW YORK --- To publicize American Airlines' new nonstop weekend service from New York (JFK) to Grand Cayman starting June 15, a delegation of Cayman Islands' tourism officials and industry partners will launch a week-long blitz June 3 of 400 top-producing travel agencies in New York and Connecticut.

Pilar Bush, U.S. deputy director of operations for the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, will head the group.

Bush said the blitz is an "aggressive effort to build awareness of American's new twice-weekly service from New York, one of our key markets."

In addition, air service offered by Cayman Airways from Houston, Miami and Tampa, Fla.; Continental from Newark; Delta from Atlanta; as well as American's three daily flights from Miami will also be highlighted.

The blitz coincides with the opening of the Cayman Islands' new U.S. headquarters office in New York City on May 30.
