Cedar Fair to acquire two parks

SANDUSKY, Ohio -- Cedar Fair, an organization here that owns and operates five amusement parks and four water parks throughout the U.S., announced plans to acquire Oasis Water Park in Palm Springs, Calif., and Adventure Amusement Park in Muskegon, Mich.

According to the company, the Oasis deal is expected to close by the end of this month.

The signing date for Adventure Amusement Park was not disclosed.

Oasis Water Park offers more than 20 water rides and attractions, a children's activity area, restaurants and shops.

Adventure Amusement Park also is a family-oriented venue with rides and food and merchandise outlets plus a water area called Wild Water Adventure.

Cedar Fair's five amusement parks are Cedar Point in Lake Erie, Ohio; Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom near Allentown, Pa.; Knott's Berry Farm, Buena Park, Calif.; Valleyfair in Minneapolis, and Worlds of Fun, Kansas City, Mo.

The firm's water parks are in Buena Park and Chula Vista, Calif.; Kansas City, Mo., and Sandusky, Ohio.
