NEW YORK -- Hold the phones! New York unveiled a series of public
service announcements featuring celebrities inviting listeners to
visit the Big Apple.
Eighteen different messages will be played by radio stations
across the country starting next week through Sept. 15, and will be
heard when callers are put on hold at City Hall, the city's
visitors bureau, hotels and businesses like Telecharge.
Among the celebrities lending their voices to the campaign are
actor Dominic Chianese from the Sopranos, fashion designer Nicole
Miller, pop artist Peter Max and salsa legend Willie Colon.
