Chain says no to spring revels

CANCUN -- Royal Resorts here is offering a different kind of spring break package.

The resort company said it "will not tolerate college students' typical rowdy" spring recess behavior and won't accept students traveling without their parents during this time.

In fact, at least one registered guest in each villa must be 25 years of age and be "willing to accept responsibility for the action of all villa occupants."

"The management encourages young adults who want to party to seek accommodations elsewhere," the resort company said.

Instead, Royal Resorts' five hotels here are marketing a spring break package for families during March that costs from $1,560 for a suite that sleeps four.

The seven-day package includes daily breakfast, airport transfers and a choice of a day trip to Xcaret, Chichen-Itza, Tulum or Xel-Ha.

Reduced daily greens fees at the nearby Pok-ta-Pok golf course also are included.

Royal Resorts' Cancun properties are the Royal Caribbean, Royal Islander, Royal Mayan, Club International de Cancun and Royal Sands.

Royal Resorts pays 15% commission.
