Charter flies to Montego Bay

MIAMI -- Clients who need to get to Sandals and Beaches resorts in Jamaica can take advantage of Champagne Express charter flights from six U.S. cities.

Operated by Miami Air, the flights to Jamaica depart Saturdays from Boston and Chicago to Montego Bay.

The flights are aboard a 727 with room for 172 passengers in coach.

The service includes free champagne, meals and beverages.

The Champagne Express charter flights also operate from Chicago and Los Angeles to the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Antigua and St. Lucia.

Seats on the charter flights can only be purchased in conjunction with bookings at Sandals or Beaches resorts.

Tickets on the charter flights are priced from $289 per adult and $180 for children ages 2 to 15.

Taxes and a fuel surcharge of $62 per person are extra.

In addition to free champagne service, the charter flights include the services of a "flying concierge" to answer questions put to them by passengers.

Guests are given hotel registration forms during the flight to facilitate check-in.

Sandals said its charter flights to Jamaica offer another choice for getting clients to its two newest resorts on the island: Beaches Grande Sport at Ciboney in Ocho Rios, which is scheduled to open Dec. 15, and Beaches Royal Plantation Golf Resort and Spa, also in Ocho Rios, which is scheduled to open Feb. 1.

As reported, both resorts, formerly Ciboney Ocho Rios and Plantation Inn, were acquired by Sandals and infused with $10 million worth of renovations and improvements each.
