China Southern adds hotel plan

GUANGZHOU -- Riding a 50% increase in passengers from the U.S. to China in its PremiumEconomy class, China Southern heads into summer with a flurry of new promotions.

The airline signed an agreement with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and Traders Hotels that will enable members of China Southern's Sky Pearl Club frequent flyer program to receive up to 40% discounts at all Shangri-La and Traders properties through Aug. 31.

In addition, the hotel companies are giving double miles to Sky Pearl Club members who stay at the hotels.

Meanwhile, China Southern also launched its Sunshine Youth Club, a frequent flyer program for children. Members are eligible to enter writing and drawing contests, a scholarship lottery, aeronautic educational programs and receive a schoolbag full of games.

China Southern also expanded the frequency of its nonstop service between Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

A new daily flight departs at 8:20 a.m. The service operates on a code-share basis with Vietnam Airlines. Those additional flights bring China Southern's schedule of weekly flights to 12.
