Cincinnati home to Taft Center

CINCINNATI -- The recently opened Taft Education Center here boasts an extensive collection of memorabilia on the 27th president and his family.

Located on the grounds of the William Howard Taft Birthplace, the center houses two galleries.

Gallery I features a life-size animatron of Charles P. Taft, the president's son, who introduces himself as someone who "loved to get away from it all and fish" and proceeds to offer stories about his family.

There also is an exhibit called the "Taft Legacy," which consists of displays on several generations of Taft family political figures.

Gallery II has an interactive computer station that enables guests to explore the family's history in greater depth.

The gallery also serves as "flexible space" to accommodate special exhibits, meetings and other events.

The Taft Educaton Center is open daily except Christmas and New Years. Tours are free.
