Colorado Springs property receives $12M renovation

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Broadmoor is nearing the completion of a $12 million renovation that includes enhancements and additions throughout the property.

The upscale property renovated 56 guest rooms and suites, which received new bathrooms and furnishings. Selected units also were expanded into hospitality suites.

Among the additions to the resort is a full-service salon in the property's spa and fitness center. The 5,000-square-foot facility offers manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing and hair styling.

The Broadmoor's formal dining venue, the Penrose Room, was completely redesigned and refurbished.

In the property's specialty retail area, a Polo Ralph Lauren store opened in April, and six to eight new outlets are scheduled to come on line in July. Included will be a children's shop, a signature store with upscale Broadmoor logo items and apparel, a shoe store and a jewelry shop.

In the same area, the property expanded the Espresso's Coffee Shop to include a newsstand and an open kitchen, where chefs give cooking demonstrations.

The historic Broadmoor, which opened in 1918, has a total of 700 guest rooms and suites; a variety of dining, entertainment and recreational options; a children's program, and meeting and convention facilities.

The resort features three golf courses, all of which have received major renovations over the last three years. Nightly rates start at $295 through Oct. 31. Packages that include golf, tennis and spa treatment options also are available.

For clients wishing to spend the millennium in Colorado, the Broadmoor is offering a three-night package from Dec. 30 to Jan. 2 with a number of events and activities for adults and children. The rate is $2,500 per adult, double, and $1,750 per child ages 15 and under.
