COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Broadmoor is nearing the completion
of a $12 million renovation that includes enhancements and
additions throughout the property.
The upscale property renovated 56 guest rooms and suites, which
received new bathrooms and furnishings. Selected units also were
expanded into hospitality suites.
Among the additions to the resort is a full-service salon in the
property's spa and fitness center. The 5,000-square-foot facility
offers manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing and hair styling.
The Broadmoor's formal dining venue, the Penrose Room, was
completely redesigned and refurbished.
In the property's specialty retail area, a Polo Ralph Lauren
store opened in April, and six to eight new outlets are scheduled
to come on line in July. Included will be a children's shop, a
signature store with upscale Broadmoor logo items and apparel, a
shoe store and a jewelry shop.
In the same area, the property expanded the Espresso's Coffee
Shop to include a newsstand and an open kitchen, where chefs give

The resort features three golf courses, all of which have
received major renovations over the last three years. Nightly rates
start at $295 through Oct. 31. Packages that include golf, tennis
and spa treatment options also are available.
For clients wishing to spend the millennium in Colorado, the
Broadmoor is offering a three-night package from Dec. 30 to Jan. 2
with a number of events and activities for adults and children. The
rate is $2,500 per adult, double, and $1,750 per child ages 15 and
under. Rates cover accommodations, all food and nonalcoholic
beverages, events and activities, commemorative gifts, service fees
