Consumer interest in European travel shows signs of thawing

The number of U.S. consumers interested in travel to Europe rose 21% compared to the prior month but fell 40% from the same month the previous year, based on an analysis of the number of consumers researching European travel online conducted by web analytics firm Compete Inc..

A total of 2.2 million consumers researched Europe travel online in December, up from 1.8 million the prior month, Compete reported.
