Coyaba Beach Resort spruces up for season

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica -- The 50-room Coyaba Beach Resort & Club here completed several property enhancements and introduced a package for families with young children.

Among the resort's improvements is a new spa annex.

With a private, air-conditioned treatment room, the facility allows for a wider range of spa treatments than are available in the resort's beachside gazebo, including European facials and body scrubs, manicures and pedicures.

Another enhancement is that Coyaba now has four guest rooms with direct beachfront access.

Patios for the property's ground-level rooms now open directly to cobblestone paths that lead to the beach a few steps away.

Also, Coyaba extended its wood jetty by 100 feet, creating a boardwalk that connects the jetty with Dock's Caribbean, the property's lunch eatery and bar.

Coyaba's four-night Parents Paradise package features two adjoining rooms, 10 hours of nanny service, a welcome gift, daily breakfasts and afternoon tea, unlimited children's movie rentals, unlimited use of the tennis and fitness facilities, water sports and reduced green fees at nearby golf courses.

The price per family, including two adults and up to three children, is $2,720 through April 15 and $1,760 from April 16 through Dec. 15.

The resort pays 12% commission on the room and 10% on meals.

Through April 15, winter rates at Coyaba range from $290 per room, double, for garden deluxe accommodations to $390 for an ocean junior suite. From April 16 through Dec. 15, rates range from $190 to $250.
