Cozumel pass features savings on eco visits

COZUMEL, Mexico -- Cozumel is offering a pass that lets tourists visit the ecological parks of Chankanaab and Punta Sur as well as attractions such as the Cozumel Museum for a reduced price.

The $20 pass, which is available at the island's parks and hotels, also offers a total of $20 in savings on snorkel rentals, diving tours and the Spacewalker bungee-jumping attraction.

Pass holders also receive a 20% discount on domestic drinks, such as Mexican beer, at restaurants in Chankanaab Park, including La Laguna and El Bucanero, and a 15% discount at the restaurant in the Cozumel Museum in downtown San Miguel.

The pass, which offers a combined savings of more than $30, will be available until Dec. 31.

Visitors can use the pass for admission to Chankanaab Park, which is known for its botanical gardens and is home to Chankanaab Lagoon, which offers scuba diving and Dolphin Discovery, a program that enables visitors to swim and interact with dolphins.

Punta Sur is a unique environment of mangrove jungles, white sand beaches and reef formations. The Cozumel Museum provides visitors with an overview of the island's natural environment, history and culture.
