Cruise deals abound this summer

NEW YORK -- Cruise lines are offering discounts and debuting rates for several sailings through the year. A sampling is as follow:

• Fred Olsen Cruise Lines is offering 40% discounts on departures through July on cruises to Norway and the Baltic Sea. The discounts apply to cruises on the company's liners the Black Watch and the Braemar l(formerly the Royal Viking Star and the Crown Dynasty, respectively).

• Bookings opened for Peter Deilmann Cruises' first world voyage aboard the Deutschland, which begins Dec. 18 and ends May 4, 2003. The cruise on the 286-cabin vessel begins from the Canary Islands and ends in Venice, Italy, with stops in South America, Asia and Africa.

• Radisson Seven Seas Cruises is offering guests a $500 per person bonus savings and extended early-booking savings on three Tahiti cruises aboard the Paul Gaugin. The savings apply to the ship's departures on Sept. 7 and 14 and Dec. 14. The line also offers free, roundtrip economy air fare to Tahiti from select gateways.

• Windjammer Barefoot Cruises' 122-passenger Legacy will again host a special "spa cruise" on Nov. 3. The Legacy will sail from St. Thomas through the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.
