Curacao tourism groups invite agents to Expo

WILLEMSTAD, Curacao -- The Curacao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA), in cooperation with Curacao Tourism Development offices in Venezuela, the U.S., Germany and Holland, is inviting travel agents from Europe, North America and South America to visit the island for the Curacao 2000 Travel Expo.

The cost of the three-night package is $125 per person.

The main topics for the June 1 to 3 event are Curacao's culture and history; its diving and snorkeling opportunities, and its beaches and other attractions.

The three-day program includes the following activities:

  • June 1: Travel agents will visit Punda and Otrabanda for walking tours, trips to museums and shopping. Bus shuttles will run between hotels and downtown during the day.
  • Mambo Beach will host a Welcome Party together with the Punda hotels (Avila Beach, Plaza Hotel, Princess Beach, Trupial Inn and Lions Dive).

  • June 2: The trade show at the World Trade Center for CHATA members will feature presentations and the opportunity for one-on-one meetings with travel agents.
  • The trade show is followed by a lunch hosted by the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort & Emerald Casino and a product orientation tour.

  • June 3: This day offers time for optional sightseeing, free diving and snorkeling, island tours and sunbathing.
  • A farewell party will be sponsored by the Otrabanda hotels (Holiday Beach, Curacao Marriott, Habitat, Hotel Porto Paseo, Otrobanda Hotel and Sheraton Curacao) and CHATA restaurants.
