D.C. Web site adds res engine

WASHINGTON -- The Washington D.C. Convention and Visitors Association and the D.C. Committee to Promote Washington partnered with the Hotel Reservations Network to provide a hotel-booking service at the city's official Web site, www.washington.org.

By entering the Vacation Planning section of the site, visitors can access a Hotel Discounts area that allows them to find and book hotels based on their check-in dates, length of stay, hotel rates and other factors.

The service also provides immediate confirmation on bookings as well as photos of rooms and maps. HRN pays agents commissions for bookings made at the site, according to a bureau representative. Hotel reservations also can be made by calling (800) 823-9652.
