ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Agents and the public now can book via the
Internet a pair of two-night and longer Walt Disney Travel Co. land
packages to Disneyland in California -- Resort Magic and Vacation
An enhancement of the Web site, www.disneyland.com,
by GO.com, a Walt
Disney Co. unit, made this possible; it included encryption of
credit card information.
Those booking on the site are asked to make a $200 deposit 30
days or more before arrival and to pay in full if arriving within
30 days. Step-by-step prompts lead users through the booking
process. Customized itineraries and confirmations can be printed,
The two Disney-owned hotels in Anaheim or 19 designated Good
Neighbor Hotels are available. United flights and National rental
cars are optional.
Previously, the Web site was used largely for information and
Disneyland ticket sales. Agents have been able to book selected
Walt Disney Travel Co. Florida packages and print customized
itineraries and confirmations for more than a year using the
agent-only Web site, www.disneytravelagents.com.
To book on the Disneyland site, agents must first be registered
with the Walt Disney Travel Co.
"In February 2000, ticket sales through Disneyland.com increased
by more than 150% compared with last year, demonstrating consumers'
growing confidence in using the Internet to plan their vacations,"
Mark Koehler, vice president for Internet travel for GO.com,
