Disney to package Magic, Cirque due Soleil

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Starting Jan. 1, agents can book the Walt Disney Travel Co.'s three-night and longer Disney Deluxe Magic packages with a new component: the Cirque du Soleil.

The Cirque du Soleil feature will be available in early January, "but we haven't yet announced a date," a spokeswoman said. The shows will run five days a week: Sundays at 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and Wednesdays to Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The troupe will perform at a new, 1,650-seat theater being built at Disney's West Side. This show also will differ from other Cirque du Soleil venues.

The following packages are available:

  • Three-night Disney Deluxe Magic packages start at $815 per person, double, tax included. Also covered are accommodations at a Disney moderate, Home Away From Home property or a deluxe resort hotel; an Unlimited Magic Pass valid from check-in day to midnight of the day of checkout at all of the Disney theme parks, plus Disney's Flex Feature, where there is one choice from items such as a Character Breakfast and DisneyQuest games with 80 units of play. Packages also include unlimited resort recreation, such as golf; breakfast, lunch and dinner daily at more than 250 participating restaurants at the Disney complex, and a choice of one of four Discovery tours for guests age 16 and older. Camp Disney for children ages 7 to 15 and use of Disney transportation are also covered.
  • Three-night Disney Resort Magic packages start at $349 per person, double. The rates includes tax; accommodations at a Disney Resort hotel; unlimited admission to each of the Disney theme parks; use of the park's transportation system, and one-hour early entry into some parks and attractions on selected days.
  • Three-night Disney Grand Plan packages start at $1,263 per person, double. The price covers tax; upscale hotel room; the Unlimited Magic Pass; all meals; Disney's Flex Feature; resort recreation that includes unlimited golf; admission to Cirque du Soleil; a fireworks cruise from selected Magic Kingdom and Epcot Resort hotels, and a 50-minute spa treatment for guests ages 10 and older. Additional components include gifts, snacks, golf and tennis lessons, visits to the Disney Institute, Discovery tours and child care services.
  • The four-night Disney's Romantic Escape starts at $485 per person, double. It features a Disney hotel and a Guest Choice Feature offering one of the following: dinner at a selected restaurant; one spa treatment; a 30-minute walk-around photo session with a professional photographer, or admission to Cirque du Soleil and an Unlimited Magic Pass.
  • The two-night Disney's Golf Getaway starts at $329 per person, double, and includes a Disney hotel, one round of golf with a cart for each night's stay and other amenities. The package has other options, including a 30-minute golf lesson or admission to Cirque du Soleil.
  • Cirque du Soleil tickets can be added to all Walt Disney Travel Co. packages. The tickets are $60 for guests ages 10 and older and $48 for children ages 3 to 9. The price includes tax.
