Dollywood inks agreement for Fla. land purchase

ORLANDO -- Dollywood Productions contracted to acquire land, reportedly near Little Lake Bryan here, for the possible construction of a Dixie Stampede & Dinner Show attraction.

A spokesman for the Pigeon Forge, Tenn., concern would confirm only that there was an agreement signed to acquire land, adding that a feasibility study, focusing on operations from the new site, would be undertaken before any acquisition.

A decision on whether or not to build there could be made by the end of the year, the spokesman said.

Dollywood Productions failed to obtain local approval earlier this year to build a $20 million Dixie Stampede & Dinner Show facility at another site in Orlando, near the International Drive tourist district.
