NEW YORK -- The European Travel Commission here teamed with Delta
Air Lines to promote autumn travel to the Continent, producing a
joint television ad that began airing in the New York area on Sept.
16 and adding links to the carrier's online airfare- and
vacation-booking engines from its Visit Europe Web portal.
The 30-second TV spots, which will run for six weeks on the New
York CBS affiliate, highlight both www.visiteurope.com -- which also features
travel-agent locator functionality -- and Delta's flights from
Kennedy Airport to Athens, Greece; Brussels, Belgium; Frankfurt,
Germany; and Istanbul, Turkey.
The Belgian, German, Greek and Turkish tourist boards also are
partners in the promotional push.
"We thank Delta for initiating this promotion in our most vital
metro market," said Einar Gustavsson, U.S. chairman of the
33-nation ETC, in a statement.
