TORONTO -- ElderTreks is offering three small-group departures to
Nepal. The 14-day plans, designed for a maximum of 15 participants,
starts and ends in Kathmandu.
Highlights include a visit to the handcrafted wooden buildings
of Durbar Square and to Pashupatinath, a Hindu pilgrimage site of
temples and ghats (sections of shoreline with steps leading into
the water) on the Bagmati River.
A mountain flight gives ElderTrek clients views of Himalayan
peaks, including Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu and Lhotse.
The trip includes a two-day jungle adventure in Chitwan National
Park to view howler monkeys, bush deer, Asian rhinos, Bengal tigers
and other wildlife.
Participants travel via Lumbini and Tansen to the town of
Pokhara on Phewa Lake for several day hikes. A drive to Gorkha
brings the tour group to the seat of Nepalese monarchs before
returning to the capital city of Kathmandu.
Departures are scheduled for Oct. 3 and 17 and Feb. 6, and the
