MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica -- Elegant Resorts International added two
properties to its stable of upscale hotels. The consortium added
Dragon Bay in Port Antonio, Jamaica, and Blue Haven in Robinson
Crusoe Bay, Tobago.
There are 33 suites at Dragon Bay, which is situated on 55 acres
in a private cove next to the Blue Lagoon in Port Antonio. Dragon
Bay features two tennis courts, two swimming pools, water sports
and two restaurants and bars. Rates run from $145 to $330 per room,
Blue Haven on Tobago was a favorite hangout for Hollywood
celebrities in the 1940s and '50s. It is currently being
reconstructed to include 51 oceanfront rooms at Robinson Crusoe
Bay. The resort is scheduled to reopen in December.
Meanwhile, Elegant Resorts is offering clients up to two weeks
for the price of one at its Jamaican resorts. The offer is in
effect when guests pay for a one-week stay through Oct. 31 at the
Dragon Bay; the Half Moon Golf, Tennis & Beach Club, or the
Round Hill Hotel & Villas.
In addition, Elegant Resorts' Coyaba Beach Club in Jamaica is
offering up to
four free nights when guests pay for a nine-night stay. Rates
start at $150 at the Coyaba and the Dragon Bay, and at $220 at the
Half Moon and the Round Hill. Prices are per room, double, EP.
Guests of any Elegant Resorts hotel can upgrade to an inclusive
plan that covers all meals, bar drinks, airport transfers,
afternoon tea and most activities.
Dubbed the Platinum Plan, the inclusive option costs an
additional $130 to $150 per person, per day.
Blue Haven is expected to join the Platinum Plan.
