EuroCruises slates three sailings

NEW YORK -- In 2001, EuroCruises is offering the Baltic States Explorer, the White Sea Expedition and the Classic Provence cruises.

All three cruises feature rarely visited European destinations.

The 11-day Baltic States Explorer cruise aboard the 200-passenger Kristina Regina will depart from Helsinki, Finland, on June 5. The cruise will feature lectures by Jack Matlock, former U.S. ambassador to the Soviet Union.

The rate is $2,999 per person, double, including roundtrip air from New York on Finnair. The flight departs June 4 to Helsinki.

The cruise visits St. Petersburg, Russia; Tallinn, Estonia; Riga, Latvia (with an optional tour to Vilnius, Lithuania); Klaipeda, Lithuania; Gdynia, Poland; Rostock (with an optional tour to Berlin) and Lubeck, Germany, and Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Kristina Regina also will be used for the White Sea Expedition. For a rate of $3,869 per person, double, this package features roundtrip air on Finnair, a 13-day cruise and lectures by Matlock.

The flight departs from New York to Helsinki on June 26, and the cruise departs Helsinki on June 28.

The cruise visits the Solovetski Islands (site of a former Stalinist gulag), Murmansk, and Archangel Oblast, Russia; and Kirkenzes, Honningsvag, Tromso, Svolvaer and Bronnoysund, Norway.

The Kristina Regina will undergo a $1 million renovation in March.

The Classic Provence sailing begins at Newark on Delta Air Lines on Sept. 26 and has a rate of $2,795 per person, double.

The package consists of roundtrip air, three nights in Paris and a seven-night cruise aboard the Cezanne.

The Classic Provence cruise visits Arles, Avenio, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Viviers/Drome Provencale, Tournon and Lyon.
