Failed quest: DisneyQuest Chicago to close

CHICAGO -- The downtown area will lose a visitor attraction after Labor Day.

On Sept. 4, the Walt Disney Co. intends to pull the plug on DisneyQuest, a 90,000-square-foot indoor, interactive entertainment center, which has not brought in enough revenue, according to Disney officials.

The downtown attraction had opened in 1999 as a prototype for other DisneyQuests planned for urban centers.

Unaffected is the first DisneyQuest at Walt Disney World's Downtown Disney entertainment district.
