Fall-Foliage Bus Tours Have Space Available

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- It's not too late for agents to book customers on fall foliage motorcoach trips, according to the American Bus Association.

This fall, some consumers are making last-minute bookings for foliage trips, as late as three days in advance of departure, a spokeswoman for the association said. Available trips range in length from weekends to nearly three weeks, with prices ranging from $125 to $1,299. The association reported that the following tours, all of which are commissionable, still have space available:

* Country Squire Tours of Centerville, Mass., is offering a New England Holiday tour Oct. 13 through 20 which includes Boston sightseeing; the Salem Witch Museum in Salem, Mass.; Kennebunkport, Me., and Vermont's Quechee Gorge. * Lenzner Tour and Travel of Sewickley, Pa., is offering a New England Fall Foliage tour Oct. 4 through 10 and Oct. 6 through 12. The tour travels through Pennsylvania and Connecticut to Killington, Vt. It includes New Hampshire's Kancamagus trail and Cannon Mountain tram ride as well as New York's Hudson Valley. * Lewis Bus Lines of Augusta, Ga., is offering a Christian Music Festival in the Mountains Oct. 10 through 12. The tour, from Augusta to Dollywood's Christian Music Festival in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., also includes a tour through North Carolina. The tour is priced at $125 per adult, double, and $115 per child. * Mayflower Tours of Downers Grove, Ill., is offering a New England and Cape Cod tour from Boston through Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. * Atlantic Tours/Gray Line of Halifax, Nova Scotia, is offering the Atlantic Maritimes Tour Oct. 13 through 18, from Halifax to New Brunswick. The tour visits the "Anne of Green Gables" home on Prince Edward Island and the Alexander Graham Bell Museum on Cape Breton Island. The tour is priced at $1,023 per person, double. * Gallop Bus Lines of Virginia Beach, Va., and White Star Tours of Reading, Pa., is offering a tour Oct. 19 through 23, from Virginia to New York City. It includes a Circle Line Ferry tour in New York, Connecticut's Mystic Seaport Museum, and a Connecticut River Valley steam train ride. The tour is priced at $429 per person, double. * TLC Tours, Inc. of Newburgh, N.Y., has created a new tour this year, Smoky Mountain Fall Foliage and Festivals, slated for Oct. 21through 26.
