Ferry service to connect Molokai, Lahaina

LAHAINA -- Island Marine here plans to start ferry service sometime this month from Molokai to Lahaina, Mondays through Saturdays.

Island Marine will use the 149-passenger Molokai Prin-cess on the ferry route and charge $42.40 per person, including taxes. The ferry fee is commissionable at 15%.

The ferry ride between the two islands will take about one hour and 15 minutes. The Molokai Princess has two cabins and one open-air observation deck.

At press time, Island Marine was having the ferry refurbished in Honolulu and could only say that it would start the service sometime during the first part of April.

The Molokai Princess will start the day in Molokai, leaving Kaunakakai at 6 a.m. and arriving at the Lahaina Harbor at 7:15 a.m. From Maui, the ferry will leave at 5:15 p.m., arriving in Kaunakakai at 6:30 p.m.
