REDDING, Conn. -- Expo Garden Tours focuses on Holland at Tulip Time during an eight-night tour, led by garden expert Judy Glattstein.

She is an instructor at the New York Botanical Garden and has written several gardening books.

Departing on April 18, the tour begins in Amsterdam with a city tour that includes a visit to the Floating Flower Market and the Hortus Botanicus with its new three-climate greenhouse.

At Keufenhof, tour members will learn how plants are propagated and cared for at the Production Greenhouse and visit the exhibition area where more than 6 million bulbs are planted annually on this 70-acre estate.

Also during a four-night stay in Amsterdam, excursions are made to the Aalsmeer Flower Auction, the Franz Roozen Nurseries, the Hortus Bluborum with its collection of more than 100 varieties of tulips and the Roman garden of the Castle de Haar.

Tour members then visit the Palace Het Loo for a guided garden walk and the art exhibits at Kroller Muller Museum before overnighting in Apeldoorn; en route the next day, the group will call at the private garden of the Bohnenn family set on the Vecht River.

Three nights are spent in The Hague, with excursions to Delft and attendance at the annual Bloemencorso flower parade -- the Dutch answer to the rose parade -- in which hyacinths are used to decorate miles of floats and cars.

The price is $2,999, double, and includes roundtrip air from New York, eight nights' first class accommodations, all breakfasts, one lunch and three dinners, all ground transportation, private garden visits and all sightseeing, admission fees and luggage handling, and the services of a tour manager and garden expert Glattstein.
