MIAMI -- Horseback riding, mountain biking, river float trips
and canoeing are among the activities featured on a new eight-day
4th Dimension Tours adventure plan to Costa Rica.
In cooperation with American Airlines, the operator's Sports and
Nature program visits leading national parks, where all activities
are supervised by English-speaking naturalists and guides.
The price is $1,416 per person, double, and includes
accommodations, all meals and roundtrip air from Miami. Weekly
departures are scheduled through March.
At Las Baulas National Park, the Pacific coast's Tamarindo
saltwater estuary is the course for a morning canoe trip;
snorkeling (or diving at a modest fee) is the activity at Coco
Beach, and at Santa Rosa National Park, mountain biking is
scheduled for one day and horseback riding the next.
The Corobici River is the setting for a relaxed float trip,
followed by an overnight at Dundee Ranch; hiking through the
Guacalito Private Reserve tops off the outdoor activities.
Add-on packages are available for stays in San Jose, for
escorted excursions to Tortuguero National Park and for beach
extensions on both the Pacific and Caribbean coasts.
