BARCELONA -- The Catalonian capital becomes the site of one of the
world's largest parties when the Forum Barcelona 2004 event begins
here May 9.
The five-month-long affair -- which organizers hope will become
a recurring event -- will include 1,500 performances, 432 concerts,
20 circuses, 44 theater pieces and 45 seminars -- all designed to
"reflect major challenges of the 21st century and encourage global
cooperation ... for a better world," according to the Tourist
Office of Spain in New York.
One highlight will be an exhibition of 2,000-year-old
terra-cotta warrior figures from Xian in China.
One-day tickets start at about $22, three-day tickets at $37 and
season passes at about $148.For more information, visit www.barcelona2004.org.
