CABIN JOHN, Md. -- Five new properties joined the portfolio of
Villas by Linda Smith, bringing the Maryland company's roster of
properties to 54.
Remember the scene in the film "Dr. No" when Sean Connery spots
Ursula Andress as she materializes through the surf?
That scene was shot at the Roaring Pavilion villa, a
6,000-square-foot property located in St. Ann's Bay just outside
Ocho Rios. It features four bedrooms and three living areas.
The staff includes a major-domo, a concierge, two butlers, a
Paris-trained chef, a chambermaid, a laundress and two gardeners.
The spa has a steam room with rainfall and handheld showers; a
treatment room; and a teak deck with treatment tables.
The stunning villa, set on 35 acres in the mountains near
Montego Bay, is 1,500 feet above sea level.
The property, built by the Duke of Marlborough in the 1940s,
features vibrant, colorful walls; Chinese rugs; 1930s French
posters; and carved sculptures whose origins span the globe.
Separate pathways connect five bedrooms under three roofs. A
charming cottage houses three of the five bedrooms.
The more diminutive three-bedroom Eureka villa overlooks the
Caribbean and the eighth fairway at the 2,200-acre Tryall Golf
Club. The villa staff of four includes a chef, a chambermaid, a
laundress and a gardener. The property's centerpiece is a
650-square-foot Great Room that opens up onto a 130-foot-long
veranda and pool.
The 10,000-square-foot, five-bedroom villa also is located at
Tryall. The two-acre site, overlooking the Caribbean, features
granite bars, verandas, a two-level pool terrace and mahogany and
travertine marble floors.
The six-bedroom villa affords views of the ocean, Half Moon golf
course and the Ritz Carlton Golf & Spa Resort at Rose Hall.
Three golf courses -- Cinnamon Hill, Half Moon and White Witch --
are a stone's throw away. The villa's five bedrooms as well as a
gym are located in the main house; a cottage, complete with a
kitchen, also is on site.
