Follow your nose: Good eats in Vegas

LAS VEGAS -- A lot has changed on the dining scene in a city where the Pharoes Feast once passed as good eats.

For the third consecutive year, Mobil Travel Guide awarded five-star honors to Bellagio's Picasso and Renoir at the Mirage.

The fine dining establishments remain the first and only Las Vegas restaurants to take Mobil's top honors, and they are among only 14 winners in the country.

Meanwhile, Lutece at the Venetian and Nobu at the Hard Rock Hotel received four-star honors.

Because we never get tired of talking about food. ... More than 70 of the city's choicest restaurants will showcase signature dishes at the 12th annual Epicurean Affair, the dining extravaganza of the Las Vegas International Hotel & Restaurant Show (LVIHRS).

The event, to be held June 19 at the Caesars Palace pool complex, is open to the public.

Tickets to the show, which last year drew some 2,000 people, are priced at $100 per person or $850 for a package of 10 when purchased in advance. Tickets will be $125 per person at the door.

To buy tickets, call the Nevada Restaurant Association at (702) 878-2313 or the Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association at (702) 878-9272.
