Freegate Tourism offers 'Best of Jordan'

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. -- Freegate Tourism here wants to show travelers the Best of Jordan during a nine-night itinerary.

The program is scheduled to depart on Saturdays through December. The tour includes seven nights in Amman at either the Radisson or Regency hotels and two nights at Petra.

When in Amman, clients take a tour of the capital and a day excursion to the Dead Sea visiting ancient Pella and Umm Qeis, with its colonnaded terrace and theater. Another day excursion will take clients to Roman Jerash and the imposing castle at Ajloun. A special feature in Amman will be dinner with typical food and folkloric dancing and music.

Two nights are spent in Petra, visiting the Crusader castles en route to the site, where a full-day tour will visit the Treasury, the Theater, the palaces and other monuments tucked away in what is called the Rose Red City. When returning to Amman, travelers drive via Wadi Rum, one of Jordan's most magnificent desert landscapes.

The two final tour nights are spent in Amman, with a full-day excursion to the desert castles of Qasr Amra, Azraq, Qasr el Halabat and Qasr Kerana. Following this circuit, travelers will dine at a private home with a Jordanian family.

Seven days of fully escorted touring in air-conditioned vehicles as well as hotel stays with breakfast, some dinners and all transfers are included in the land-only price.

The rate is $929 per person, double occupancy. The cost ranges between $1,799 and $1,929, with air included from New York to Amman.
