GARDEN CITY, N.Y. -- Freegate Tourism here wants to show travelers
the Best of Jordan during a nine-night itinerary.
The program is scheduled to depart on Saturdays through
December. The tour includes seven nights in Amman at either the
Radisson or Regency hotels and two nights at Petra.
When in Amman, clients take a tour of the capital and a day
excursion to the Dead Sea visiting ancient Pella and Umm Qeis, with
its colonnaded terrace and theater. Another day excursion will take
clients to Roman Jerash and the imposing castle at Ajloun. A
special feature in Amman will be dinner with typical food and
folkloric dancing and music.
Two nights are spent in Petra, visiting the Crusader castles en
route to the site, where a full-day tour will visit the Treasury,
the Theater, the palaces and other monuments tucked away in what is
called the Rose Red City. When returning to Amman, travelers drive
via Wadi Rum, one of Jordan's most magnificent desert
The two final tour nights are spent in Amman, with a full-day
excursion to the desert castles of Qasr Amra, Azraq, Qasr el
Halabat and Qasr Kerana. Following this circuit, travelers will
dine at a private home with a Jordanian family.
Seven days of fully escorted touring in air-conditioned vehicles
as well as hotel stays with breakfast, some dinners and all
transfers are included in the land-only price.
The rate is $929 per person, double occupancy. The cost ranges
