GNTO designs 'classy' Berlin programs

BERLIN -- Add a touch of class to clients' Berlin itineraries this year with tickets to exhibitions and concerts the German capital has organized as part of its "Classical Berlin 2002" theme.

Billed as the world's largest antiquities show, "Greek Classicism: Idea or Reality" opened at the Martin Gropius Building this month for a run through June 2 that focuses on the architecture, literature and artwork of 5th century B.C. Athens.

Musicwise, the annual Mozart Festival gets under way at the Staatsoper May 18 to 26. Festival Days at Staatsoper Under den Linden runs March 23 to April 28, and the Berliner Festwochen will be held Sept. 1 to Nov. 15.

Meanwhile, Gendarmenmarkt square is the setting for Classic Open Air music performances, July 4 to 9.
