Galatoire's Shifts Group Res Policy

NEW ORLEANS -- Galatoire's, one of the oldest restaurants in New Orleans, named a chef and altered its reservations policy for groups.

The chef, Milton Prudence, is a veteran of 30 years experience with the restaurant. He is the first person to be named chef at the legendary eatery since it opened in 1905.

Galatoire's changed its reservations policy for large parties and now accepts them Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for lunch and dinner for groups of eight or more.

In the past, patrons would wait in long lines, according to a spokesperson, who added that the restaurant expects to receive the Five Star Diamond Award from the American Academy of Restaurants & Hotels this month.
