German resorts lure visitors with 'in-spa-rational' deals

BADEN-WURTTEMBERG, Germany -- Several of the 60 or so spa resorts in here have crafted special off-season packages to lure U.S. travelers to their healing waters.

For example, seven-night stays at the Bad-Hotel Zum Hirsch in Baden-Baden, including one free session at the Caracalla Thermal Springs, are priced from $497 per person, double, from Oct. 31 through Dec. 12, 2003; agent commission is 10%.
