Gourmet Peru tour focuses on Peruvian cuisine

LIMA, Peru -- Lima Tours added a five-night Gourmet Peru program to its product line.

The itinerary begins with two nights in Lima at the Sofitel Royal Park Hotel where guests will dine on Peruvian cuisine at the La Huaca restaurant.

On the second day, dinner is a five-course affair at Rafael's, a new restaurant with a Mediterranean flavor.

Guests then fly to Cuzco for a night at the Sol y Luna Country Inn. Two gourmet meals here include lunch at Casa Hacienda Orihuela, featuring homegrown produce, and dinner at the inn.

After a day trip by train to Machu Picchu, guests return to Cuzco for a dinner of Andean fare and an overnight at the Novotel Hotel.

Returning to Lima the next morning, they will visit the Larco Herrera Museum before lunch at the Brujas de Cachiche restaurant, which features dishes from the ancient Moche culture.

The program's final dinner will be a fusion of foods from China and Peru, at the Salon Capon.

The land-only package is priced (net rates) at $1,602 per person, double, including accommodations; buffet breakfasts and five meals (wine is extra); services of a local private guide and car; sightseeing; Cuzco tourist tax; and airport taxes in Lima and Cuzco. The plan does not include air fare.
