Grand Bahama Operator Debuts Knoxville, Allentown Service

GRAND BAHAMA ISLAND, Bahamas -- Grand Bahama Vacations, in conjunction with Laker Airways and Princess Vacations, introduced direct service to this island from Allentown, Pa., and Knoxville, Tenn.

GBV, a collective sales arm of six Grand Bahama hotels, offers three-, four- and seven-night vacation packages to Castaways Resort, Bahamas Princess Resort & Casino, Grand Bahama Beach Resort, Clarion Atlantik Beach & Golf Resort, Lucayan Beach Resort & Casino and Club Fortuna Beach Resort.

The nonstop flights, which debuted July 3, take 90 minutes from Knoxville and two-and-a-half hours from Allentown.

Flights depart from Knox-ville on Sundays and Thursdays and from Allentown on Mondays and Thursdays.

Service to Knoxville ends on Sept. 28 and to Allentown on Oct. 30.

To publicize the service, tourism executives from Grand Bahama will visit Tennessee and Pennsylvania this month with a slate of nightly seminars.

The starting air-inclusive rate for a three-night stay from either destination is $269 at the Castaways Resort.

Additional fees of up to $43 are charged in these markets to cover hotel taxes, transfers and other costs.

The company also offers air-inclusive programs year-round from Baltimore; Cleveland; Cincinnati; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Richmond, Va., and Raleigh/Durham, N.C.

Winter-only programs are offered from Chicago and Hartford, Conn.
