FREEPORT, Bahamas -- Grand Bahama Vacations, a tour operator
specializing in trips to Grand Bahama Island and Nassau/Paradise
Island, is planning to reward the single travel agency that sells
the most air-inclusive vacation packages to the Royal Oasis Golf
Resort & Casino here through Dec. 21, with 52 three-night trips
(one trip per week for two people).
The winner will be selected in January. The agency can use these
trips however it pleases. Among the options are giveaways, selling
the trips to top corporate customers, using them for radio
promotions, fundraising or as rewards for staff.
The revenue measurement to determine the winning agency will be
the grand total of air plus hotel sales.
The Royal Oasis underwent a $42 million renovation earlier this
year and now features two Six Continents-brand hotels -- a Crowne
Plaza and a Holiday Inn Sunspree. Guests of one have use of
amenities at the other.
The renovation included a new 1 million-gallon beach pool,
full-service spa and upgrades to the golf courses and casino and
enhancement of all rooms, public areas and landscaping.
Grand Bahama Vacations offers departures from
Baltimore-Washington; Birmingham, Ala.; Cleveland; Cincinnati;
Dallas-Fort Worth; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Memphis; Nashville;
Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; Richmond, Va.; and St. Louis.
All packages include roundtrip Boeing 727 flights on Laker
Airways and accommodations at the Royal Oasis.
