Group expands eastern Europe hotel portfolio

NEW YORK -- Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts is expanding aggressively in Eastern Europe.

New properties include the 75-room Radisson SAS Hotel in Klaipeda, Lithuania, and the 279-room Radisson SAS Hotel in Tallinn, Estonia.

Both opened Feb. 1.

Radisson SAS will open four hotels in Poland next year -- two in Warsaw, opening October 2002; one in Krakow, debuting in November 2002, and one in Wroclaw, opening in May 2002.

In Russia, a deluxe, 166-room Radisson SAS hotel will open in St. Petersburg this July, and a 270-room property will open in Kiev, Ukraine, in January.

In Slovakia, the 167-room Radisson SAS Carlton Hotel in Bratislava will open in October.

In Bulgaria, the 136-room Radisson SAS Grand Hotel in Sofia opened at the beginning of this year.
