Group to Inspect Thai High Rises

BANGKOK, Thailand -- Thailand Interior Minister Sanoh Thienthong formed a committee to inspect high-rise buildings throughout Thailand in the wake of a fire that killed nearly 100 people at the 15-story Royal Jomtien Resort Hotel in the beach resort of Pattaya.

According to police, the hotel lacked smoke detectors, sprinklers and fire extinguishers.
