MONTEGO BAY -- Soon there will be two reasons to leave your bathing
suit home when packing for your trip to Jamaica.
That's because SuperClubs will open its second Hedonism resort
-- Hedonism III Runaway Bay -- Sept. 1. Confusing though it may
sound, SuperClubs' first Hedonism property, in Negril, is called
Hedonism II. "We had no choice but to call [the new Hedonism] 'III'
since we called the first one 'II'," said a SuperClubs spokeswoman.
Open to clients 18 years and older, the Hedonism brand is not for
Frolicking, drinking and partying are what a Hedonism vacation
is all about, and clients are encouraged to wear their togas very
loosely. Hedonism II reserves a spot on its beach for nude
sunbathers, and so will Hedonism III.
"Over the past five years, we have established four distinct
brands for SuperClubs -- Grand Lido, Breezes, Hedonism and Boscobel
Beach," said John Issa, SuperClubs chairman. "More recently, we
have been focusing on growing those individual brands, and Hedonism
III marks an expansion of the company's best-known product."
Water will be an important element of the 225-room Hedonism III.
The resort will feature a four-story transparent water slide that
cuts through the disco and feeds into the main swimming pool. There
will be three pools in all, including one for nudies.
There will be four restaurants, five bars and four Jacuzzis,
including one with a see-through tub. Rooms will be equipped with
direct-dial phones, televisions, CD players, safe-deposit boxes,
alarm-clock radios, hair dryers, coffeemakers and irons and ironing
Like its sister resort, Hedonism III will offer circus
workshops, with daily classes on the trapeze, trampoline and
Spanish rope (thankfully, clothing is not optional).
Duffers will be treated to greens fees at the nearby Breezes
Golf and Beach Resort. In other SuperClubs news, Negril will get
its third SuperClubs when the 225-room Breezes Negril opens in
