Heli USA to expand presence in Hawaii

LAS VEGAS -- Helicopter sightseeing company Heli USA Airways here is planning to expand its presence on Kauai, add service on Oahu April 1, and possibly serve Maui by Nov. 1 of this year, John Power, vice president of sales and marketing told Travel Weekly.

The operator has run daily tours from Princeville Airport on Kauai for the last 18 months, he said, from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., and is introducing a sunset flight, taking couples and honeymooners above Bali Hai, beginning Aug. 15.

Commissions on Heli USA's tours range from 15% to 25%, depending on the product. A $20 commission is paid on the $72 per person Apollo Night Flight over Las Vegas; $500 is paid on the Grand Canyon Honeymoon, priced at $2,450 per couple.

Heli USA has a 100% safety record, Power said.
