Heller-White acquires Marc Resorts Hawaii

HONOLULU -- Marc Resorts Hawaii, a resort management company with 15 properties in the islands, was purchased by a group of investors led by Heller-White Hotel Management of Phoenix.

Marc Resorts was a subsidiary of Sunterra, a Las Vegas-based company in Chapter 11 reorganization. Heller-White, a specialist in turnarounds of troubled hotels, operates more than 50 hotels on the mainland.

Marc Resorts president Matthew Delaney said he will join Heller-White and oversee its new Hawaii division. "The acquisition will provide the capital, stability and resources that Marc Resorts needs to grow," he said.

Marc Resorts will expand to hotel management in addition to its resort condominium management role it has had in the past, he said. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
