HONOLULU -- Marc Resorts Hawaii, a resort management company with
15 properties in the islands, was purchased by a group of investors
led by Heller-White Hotel Management of Phoenix.
Marc Resorts was a subsidiary of Sunterra, a Las Vegas-based
company in Chapter 11 reorganization. Heller-White, a specialist in
turnarounds of troubled hotels, operates more than 50 hotels on the
Marc Resorts president Matthew Delaney said he will join
Heller-White and oversee its new Hawaii division. "The acquisition
will provide the capital, stability and resources that Marc Resorts
needs to grow," he said.
Marc Resorts will expand to hotel management in addition to its
resort condominium management role it has had in the past, he said.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
