Hilton opens 75th Garden Inn, sets introductory room rates

TAMPA, Fla. -- Hilton Hotels opened its 75th Hilton Garden Inn -- the 148-room Hilton Garden Inn Tampa North in Temple Terrace.

"We're getting mostly business travelers but because we're so close to the interstate and Busch Gardens, we're getting some leisure [business] on weekends," a spokeswoman said.

The hotel, which opened June 1, has an introductory offer of $89 per night, single or double, valid through mid-fall. After that, rates will average about $99.

The Hilton also has a group rate of $79 per person (minimum of 10 people) that includes a free meeting room.

The six-story hotel is at the intersection of Interstate 75 and Fletcher Avenue, 15 miles from downtown Tampa and 20 miles from Tampa Airport.

The Hilton Garden Inn Tampa North features a glass-walled pavilion which houses the reception desk; a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a lounge area with a TV and fireplace.

The pavilion also includes four meeting rooms offering a total of 4,000 square feet of space, a 24-hour business center and a laundry.

Business-oriented room features include a large work desk with a pull-out shelf for portable computers, adjustable lighting, an ergonomic chair and phones with two lines and data ports.

The new Hilton franchise is owned by Cardel Tampa Oaks and managed by Cardel Hospitality Group.
