SAN DIEGO -- Hilton Hotels Corp. opened the 207-room Hilton San Diego Airport at Harbor Island.

The newly renovated property, which had been operated as a Travelodge, now is managed by Westmont Hospitality and operated under a license agreement with Hilton Inns, the franchise subsidiary of Hilton Hotels Corp.

The nine-story building offers six suites with balconies, a restaurant, lounge areas, seven meeting rooms with 9,000 square feet of space, a 24-hour business center and an airport shuttle.

The airport property is the 10th for Hilton in the San Diego metropolitan area.

The hotel is on Harbor Island, one mile from Lindbergh Field (San Diego Airport) and within a 10-minute drive of Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, downtown San Diego, the convention center and Balboa Park.
