HoJo opens 55-room property in Curacao

PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- Howard Johnson International opened the first phase of its fourth Caribbean property -- the 55-room Curacao Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel & Casino in Willemstad.

The $6.5 million property is owned by Americana Brionplein Inc. and operated by Brion Hotel Management Inc.

Located in the historic Otrobanda district, the hotel is surrounded by more than 50 shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. All guest units overlook the Caribbean, the pool or St. Ana Bay.

The hotel's Beach Club offers snorkeling, water-skiing and mountain-biking. The hotel also features a Mexican-style restaurant, patio cafe, ice cream parlor and gift shop.

By February, 30 more rooms will be added along with a second restaurant, 15 shops, a health center, spa and diving shop.
